The Maitland City Council recognized Deputy Police Chief Dawn D'Ambrosio as the city's Employee of the Quarter.
D'Ambrosio started as a reserve Patrol Officer in 1997. At that time, she was one of only three women in a department of 25 sworn officers. The Police Department now has seven female officers among 53.
She became Master Patrol Officer in 2001, Sergeant in 2003, Lieutenant in 2011, Captain in 2014 and Deputy Police Chief in 2017.
D'Ambrosio continues to take on new responsibilities to help manage the growing agency. She works closely with staff on various projects and often presses the department to reach for new accomplishments.
“Deputy Chief D’Ambrosio is the embodiment of a leader. She is truly committed to not only the City, but to the Department and all of its members,” said Police Capt. Louis Grindle. “DC D’Ambrosio strives to have the Department work on being better in every capacity possible.”
Congratulations Deputy Chief D'Ambrosio.
