Construction for new sewer pipeline will expand next month in two areas of the Dommerich Hills neighborhood.
Crews are currently installing underground pipeline along parts of Tuscarora Trail and Chinook Trail, which are closed to vehicle traffic west of Nicoma Trail. Work soon will progress north to Mohawk Trail.
In September, a second construction site will begin pipeline installation east of there – along sections of Chinook Trail and Huron Trail between Ponca Trail and Kewannee Trail. Residents in that area will be notified when road closures are scheduled.
The Dommerich Hills improvement project is expanding Maitland’s central sewer system to 430 homes, providing a more efficient, reliable and environmentally safe solution to on-site residential septic tanks. Work also is resurfacing roadways and building new sidewalks along some streets.
