The City of Maitland is closely monitoring progress of Hurricane Idalia, which is forecast to make landfall along northern Florida’s Gulf Coast.
While the center of the large storm is not directed toward Central Florida, strong wind gusts and rain from outer weather bands are expected here tonight through early Wednesday morning. Residents should follow local weather reports for updates.
Maitland fire and police will respond to potential emergencies during and after the storm, pending weather conditions. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
City Hall and administrative offices will open Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. City parks will be open Wednesday, pending conditions. City work crews will conduct clean-up efforts following the weather event.
WastePro will not collect residential yard waste on Wednesday due to the closure of regional landfills. Yard waste make-up collection is rescheduled on Saturday.
