The next phase of extensive updates to Lake Lily Park will begin in February with demolition and reconstruction of the northern overlook stage and walkways.
Crews will remove the paver and concrete area on the north side of the lake near Maitland Avenue. Underground soil will be stabilized and a concrete base will be added before the surface pavers and concrete are replaced. The adjacent concrete walkway also will be replaced around the overlook.
The area will be closed to pedestrians during construction. Work is expected to wrap up in late February. Later this year, the park’s southern parking lot (near the Waterhouse Residence Museum) will be rebuilt. Large areas of the park will be relandscaped. Signs will be replaced.
The construction continues a series of improvements to Lake Lily Park including new pedestrian steps and bathroom renovations last year. The fountain in the center of the lake was replaced. Damaged areas of sidewalks were rebuilt.
